MISSION, TX – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and the Mission Economic Development Corporation announced a new partnership that will bring UTRGV’s Office of Workforce and Economic Development to Mission.
The university will open an office at Mission EDC’s CEED Building that will serve as a hub for programs and services dedicated to advancing the regional workforce and business development across the RGV.
The collaboration will support entrepreneurs and business owners in their efforts to succeed in today’s competitive marketplace by providing quality business advisement and training to both existing and prospective business owners.
“We are excited to partner with UTRGV and to promote economic development in the Rio Grande Valley,” Mission EDC CEO Teclo Garcia said. “This partnership will enable us to expand our outreach and provide more extensive support to entrepreneurs and local business owners.”
Garcia commended UTRGV’s willingness to work with Mission EDC and thanked the EDC board for its support and leadership on the partnership.
As part of the agreement, UTRGV’s Office of Workforce and Economic Development will hub six different departments inside the CEED Building, including the Small Business Development Center, Veterans Business Outreach Center and the Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center, among others.
